What to Expect

To prevent damage to the composite resin, patients should avoid sticky foods, hard candy, and chewing ice. The resin material, like the natural enamel, can develop discoloration from staining foods, drinks, and tobacco, so patients are encouraged to avoid these. With proper care, the results of bonding and contouring can last 7 – 11 years. Patients can have the treatment re-done, touched up, or replaced with veneers.
